01 · An energy enquiry, not a cold contact list
An energy enquiry, not a cold contact list
An energy lead is a business owner’s request for energy quotes. Our paid real-time energy sales leads come from managed Google Ads campaigns and are sent to the agreed broker as the enquiry arrives.
The distinction matters when you buy energy leads. A contact record tells you how to reach somebody; an enquiry gives you a reason to speak. The owner has completed a landing-page form about their business energy supply. Your job is to establish their needs, confirm what they have told us and explain what your brokerage can offer.
We are a lead-generation business, not an energy supplier and not an energy broker. We do not quote tariffs, negotiate an owner’s supply agreement or close the sale for you. We provide the enquiry and the agreed delivery arrangements, leaving the commercial discussion and suitability checks to your team.
Energy broker leads suit teams with somebody available to respond, a clear quoting process and a way to record calls. If your desk is full or your supplier access does not cover the agreed prospects, pause or adjust the order before increasing volume. More enquiries are not a substitute for a workable sales process.
02 · Live leads, shared enquiries, cold data and referrals
Live leads, shared enquiries, cold data and referrals
Different sources serve different purposes. Compare the owner’s intent, the distribution rules and the work needed before a quote, rather than judging every source by the price of a record.
| Source | Starting point | Distribution | Broker’s next task |
|---|---|---|---|
| Our paid live leads | Owner requests quotes through a campaign form | One paying client for 30 days; may be aged and resold later | Respond promptly, confirm supply and contract position |
| Shared aggregator leads | An enquiry; ask the seller how it was generated | May reach several brokers; terms depend on the seller | Establish who is already responding and distinguish your offer |
| Cold data | A contact record, not evidence of a current quote request | Licence and reuse terms vary | Establish a lawful contact basis and a reason to engage |
| Referrals | An introduction through an existing relationship | Depends on the referring party’s arrangement | Confirm permission, need and the scope of the introduction |
A shared lead is not automatically unusable, and a referral is not automatically ready to switch. The practical question is whether the source fits your team’s capacity and expectations. Ask a provider to explain its process in writing, including later resale, before treating the word exclusive as a complete promise.
03 · Speed to lead means being ready to respond
Speed to lead means being ready to respond
Real-time delivery lets your team respond while the quote request is recent. It does not promise that the owner will answer, be ready to switch or accept your price.
Arrange a named person or team to monitor the lead email and shared Google Sheet during your working hours. Record when an enquiry arrived, when you called and what happened. If the decision-maker is busy, agree a useful callback rather than repeating a full pitch to whoever answers.
Use the first conversation to check the business name, premises, fuel requirement, supplier and bill information. Then ask about the contract position and authority to discuss the supply. Be clear about your identity, how you received the request and any next steps. A recent enquiry is an opening to a conversation, not permission to skip those checks.
If you cannot reach the owner, keep an accurate attempt record. Our no-response replacement route requires the specified calls and timings, not simply a lead marked lost at the end of a shift. Recording outcomes also helps separate contact problems from a quote that did not meet the owner’s needs.
04 · What an exclusive live energy lead means
What an exclusive live energy lead means
A paid real-time energy lead goes to one paying client for 30 days from delivery. After that period we may sell it as an aged lead to other brokers.
Exclusivity describes our distribution of that enquiry during the paid window. It does not mean that the owner has never spoken to another broker, searched another website or asked their current supplier for a price. Owners remain free to compare offers and choose somebody else.
Aged leads and free sample leads do not carry the paid live exclusivity window. Keep them separate in your sales workflow so your callers understand the starting point. Receiving brokers may not resell the leads, and opt-outs must be honoured under the terms. Read the privacy and data-protection pages alongside the commercial order.
05 · Control cost with agreed bill bands
Control cost with agreed bill bands
Our live prices are £500 – £1,000 a month: £40 per lead; £1,000 – £2,000 a month: £70 per lead; £2,000 – £4,000 a month: £100 per lead. Start with 15 energy leads, with no long-term contract and weekly or per-batch invoicing.
| Average monthly energy bill | Price |
|---|---|
| £500 – £1,000 a month | £40 per lead |
| £1,000 – £2,000 a month | £70 per lead |
| £2,000 – £4,000 a month | £100 per lead |
High usage (over £4,000 a month) and multi-site: quoted per campaign. Prices exclude VAT. The bill is the amount supplied by the owner, not a measured annual consumption figure. Confirm the account details when you speak; do not treat a bill band as a guarantee of annual quantity or commission.
Starter uses our own comparison campaigns. Growth adds a custom landing page, while Scale adds dedicated ad campaigns under your brand or ours. The package describes the campaign arrangement; the agreed bill bands describe the enquiries you are buying. Discuss both so the order matches your budget and desk capacity.
The aged option is 30 days old: £15 per lead, minimum 500; 60 days old: £10 per lead, minimum 500. These are our own enquiries, not third-party data, and are not exclusive. They require a different conversation because the original request is older. A lower unit price should be considered alongside the staff time needed to re-establish interest.

06 · Sales conversations by business sector
Sales conversations by business sector
Use the owner’s circumstances to shape your questions, not to assume usage or contract readiness. Business sector is not a field captured on our enquiry form.
Hospitality conversations may involve trading hours, kitchens, refrigeration and a convenient time away from service. Retail owners may want to discuss premises, opening schedules and who handles bills. In both cases ask what matters to this business instead of assuming that a recognisable business name implies a certain energy requirement.
Manufacturing discussions can involve production schedules, equipment and supply requirements. Logistics businesses may have depots, warehouses or more than one location. Establish the account scope before presenting an offer; a multi-site requirement needs its own campaign and commercial discussion rather than an assumed standard price.
Care homes may have an administrator managing the account and operational needs that affect when a decision can be made. Offices may involve a tenant, landlord or central purchasing team. Confirm which organisation controls the supply, who can authorise a change and whether the caller can provide the documents needed for a quote.
Schools and charities can have trustees, governors, procurement procedures or several people reviewing expenditure. Ask about their process and timetable without promising a specific tariff or saving. These are examples of questions a broker can ask after contact; they are not additional data fields or proof that any particular lead is ready to buy.
07 · What arrives with each enquiry
What arrives with each enquiry
Each energy lead contains the submitted contact and supply details plus the enquiry date and time. Contract end dates, MPANs, MPRNs, meter counts and business type are not captured.
| Field | What you receive |
|---|---|
| Postcode | Business premises postcode. |
| Meter type | Electricity, gas or both. |
| Current supplier | The supplier named by the business. |
| Average monthly bill | The monthly bill amount supplied on the enquiry. |
| Business name | The business requesting quotes. |
| Decision-maker name | The person asking for the quote. |
| Their submitted email address. | |
| Phone number | Their submitted contact number. |
| Enquiry date and time | When the enquiry was submitted. |
Many owners do not know their contract end date, and asking for extra details makes the enquiry form longer. We keep the request focused. Your first call confirms the contract position and obtains any additional information your brokerage needs. The fact that someone requests quotes now does not establish that their switching window is open.
08 · Free replacements with clear reporting rules
Free replacements with clear reporting rules
Faulty leads must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. No-response leads qualify after 5 unanswered calls at least 12 hours apart, reported within 7 days with attempts noted in the sheet. Mid-contract or already renewed businesses, a business choosing another broker after speaking to you, and uncompetitive prices are not replaceable.
For faulty details, note the specific problem and report it within the agreed window. For no response, record the attempts in the shared sheet so the request can be checked. Choosing another broker or receiving an uncompetitive quote is a sales outcome, not a faulty enquiry. Keep those categories separate when evaluating a batch.
